Our members choose who we support

Nominations are made by our members only. 

Organizations wishing to be considered as a nominee must do so through one of our members.

Nomination criteria

Nominated organizations must:

  • have an active presence in the Foothills Municipal District.  This includes Okotoks, High River, Nanton, Diamond Valley, and all points in-between

  • be a registered Charitable Organization able to issue tax receipts (unless otherwise specified at a special meeting)

  • spend the funds within our designated communities

  • agree that they will not use the membership list to solicit further funds

  • issue a charitable donation receipt to every member within CRA deadline

  • be able to come to the next quarterly meeting, to present how the funds were/are being utilized.

 

Timeline for nominations:

Once an organization has been awarded funding from 100 Women Who Care Foothills, it will not be eligible to be nominated (or receive funding) for a period of two years (24 months) from the date of the previous donation. For example, an organization that received funding in February 2024 (Q1), may not be considered for nomination until the May (Q2) meeting in 2027.

 

Charity nominations falling under the following categories will not be considered:

  • Programs or initiatives outside of the Foothills MD

  • Political parties or affiliated activities

  • Religious activities

  • Controversial issues

  • Organizations that have did not adhere to the criteria from previously received funding.
